About
Solidarity Care is a new baby project with a big heart. I believe that mutual aid and community care are foundational to all intersectional liberation work.
It’s not a coincidence that so many of us are isolated and overwhelmed by what it takes to live day to day in a world dominated by by oppressive & dehumanizing systems. The systems we navigate every day are designed to repeat patterns of oppression- to create overwhelm, isolation, scarcity. This keeps us focused on basic needs and can make effective organizing and resistance feel impossible. Our movements are more powerful when we reinforce each other, recognize and connect at the intersections of shared struggle and strength.
Strategizing to meet our needs in community, lifting each other up out of survival mode and into abundance, sharing skills, knowledge, & resources to ease the day to day struggles… All of this benefits individuals and communities directly, and also allows us to feel connected, safer and more supported to resist the larger systems of oppression as we build something better.
Eventually, this project will include community care initiatives including systems navigation support. This is a community-based form of something a little like care management, but encompassing support with the interconnected systems folks are navigating concurrently. This work will require funding and will only grow as much as it sustainably can, so many hands and hearts are needed. If this speaks to you and you want to collaborate or request support, please reach out <3.
Apothecary and Shop
When you buy from either the apothecary or shop, a portion of your money is always going to support mutual aid projects and individuals in need. 15% of apothecary 50% of shop sales above cost will be donated to the families I have linked here. Currently, I’m working with multiple families in Gaza to help them survive under Israel’s brutal assault and blockade. Please also visit the linktree if you would like to support them directly or read more about their stories. I’ve been directly in touch with each family and gotten to know them over time. I know it can feel complicated and uncertain to donate to unknown fundraisers. It’s true that there’s fraud out there, but the majority that I’ve seen are pretty easily verified through regular contact, video calls, and just investing in friendship and community with the folks requesting help.
The only real answer to the horror and devastation we are witnessing is an end to the occupation and a truly free Palestine, but while we fight for that together, we stand with our family there through mutual aid and unwavering connection.
